Britain and the Refugee Crisis, 1933-1947
Changing Identities: Eastern Europeans in Bradford since 1945
This archive consists of audio-tape recordings, with some transcripts, of interviews with members of the ethnic Ukrainian community in Bradford in the 1990s, regarding their personal histories. Interviewees include family groups, family members of some of the people interviewed earlier, and younger people born in the UK of immigrant parents. In contrast to the earlier work of the 1980s more than half the interviewees are women.

Documents collected by David Gamblin, a PhD student at Sheffield University, whilst conducting research for his unfinished PhD thesis ‘Yorkshire and the American Civil War’, during the years 1996 to 1999.

Halley Maritime Collection
This collection consists of assorted research materials relating to marine convoys and those who played a part in them during the Second World War. It was assembled by Morgiana Halley for her PhD entitled “An Ethnography of Marine Convoys of World War II”, which was completed in 1996 at the University of Sheffield. The collection includes sound recordings of interviews, correspondence, primary documents, poems and songs, newspaper cuttings, photocopies and research notes.
Henry Denny Charles Darwin Letters
This collection contains two original letters from Charles Darwin to Henry Denny and a reproduction of one of Denny's replies. It also contains a short note from Alfred Wallace, related correspondence, documents, research and background material on Henry Denny and his son Alfred Denny.
Nick Howard Papers
A collection of papers and sound recordings relating to Nick Howard’s research on the blockade of Germany after World War I and the influenza pandemic, and his contributions to a series of radio programmes for BBC Radio Sheffield on the history of the labour movement in the Sheffield region.

Palliative Care Oral History Project
Interviews recorded with 87 people using palliative care services between 2007 and 2016. Each interview has an accompanying summary document and some have full transcripts.
Potter Manuscripts
The papers and correspondence of George Richard Potter (1900-1982), Professor of Modern/Medieval History at the University of Sheffield from 1931 until 1965. The collection relates to his work on medieval and modern history.

Seemann Slide Collection
A collection of glass-mounted slides relating to German history, literature, theatre and landscape. Ernest Arthur Seemann was a printer and publisher of art and history books, and these slides likely contain the images that were used in E. A. Seeman's publications.

Theatre Archive Project: Archive
The archive at Sheffield contains 170 CD-ROMs of interviews with theatre workers and audience members, including Glenda Jackson, Brian Rix, Susan Engel and Michael Frayn. There is also a collection of copies of correspondence between Gyorgy Lengyel and Michel and Suria Saint Denis, and between Gyorgy Lengyel and Sir John Gielgud, dating from 1958 to 1999.
Unfinished Histories Collection
A collection of CDs and DVDs recording interviews with those involved with the alternative theatre movement in the late 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s, along with related material.
William Carr Collection
The collection comprises 338 books and pamphlets relating to the modern history of Germany.
